Tsla. O and Panasonic (6752. T) will end their cooperation in the production of solar cells as the latter step up efforts to spin off unprofitable businesses, the Nikkei reported on Wednesday.
Tesla said a few weeks ago that it has started to cooperate with Korean companies such as LG Chemical (051910. KS) and China Ningde times (300750. SZ) to diversify its supply. Panasonic is no longer the only supplier of battery for its electric vehicles.
Nikkei said the two companies plan to continue to work together to develop automotive batteries for Tesla electric vehicles.
