Xinhua news agency, Beijing, Jan. 23 (reporter Tian Xiaohang, Wang Bingyang) the national health and Health Commission released the "prevention and control plan for pneumonia caused by new coronavirus infection (Second Edition)" on the evening of Jan. 22. According to the plan, based on the current understanding of pneumonia infected by new coronavirus, the incubation period of the disease is about 14 days at most, and there is human to human transmission in the case. According to the prevention and control experience of SARS and mers, the incubation period may not be infectious.
According to the current situation and research progress of the epidemic, the national health and Health Commission has formulated this plan, and proposed nine prevention and control measures, including strengthening organizational leadership, case detection and reporting, and epidemiological investigation. The programme also includes four annex documents, namely, pneumonia case monitoring programme for new coronavirus infection, epidemiological investigation programme, management programme for suspected exposures and close contacts, and technical guidelines for laboratory testing. The program will be updated in time according to the change of epidemic situation and assessment results.
Among them, the management plan for suspected pneumonia exposed persons and close contacts infected with new coronavirus is proposed. The close contacts with the cases are those who have one of the following contact conditions after the onset of the case, but who have not taken effective protection:
