A su-57 stealth fighter plane crashed in the Far East on Tuesday during a test flight, the first accident of its kind, Russia's most advanced fighter plane, UAC said.
The UAC said the crash occurred in the Khabarovsk area and the pilot ejected.
Tass quoted two military sources as saying that the Ministry of defense will set up a committee to investigate the accident and preliminarily determine that the cause of the accident may be the failure of the aircraft control system.
The UAC said the accident did not cause casualties on the ground.
Interfax quoted a source as saying that the plane was one of the first mass-produced su-57 aircraft, which was scheduled to be delivered to the Russian air force by the end of this year.
