Citing a source close to President Trump's negotiating team, Axios reported on Sunday that the U.S. - China trade agreement "stalled because of the Hong Kong related bill.".
The report quoted an unnamed source as saying that the agreement had stalled because of the need to allow time for president Xi Jinping to calm the domestic political situation.
China's foreign ministry said Thursday that the Hong Kong related bill signed by trump on Wednesday seriously interferes in China's internal affairs.
