The U.S. President trump administration will issue a 90 day extension on Monday to allow U.S. companies to continue business with China's Huawei Technology Co., two people familiar with the matter said.
Reuters reported on Friday that sources said the trump administration would grant a two-week extension of permission, which is much shorter than the previous 90 day extension. The government is currently studying a longer extension, but it has not yet finalized due to regulatory obstacles.
The trump administration's plan changed over the weekend and now plans to extend the temporary extension to 90 days, the same as in August, people familiar with the matter said.
The new extension will be announced on Monday, when the earlier extension will expire, sources said. The source declined to be named because the measure had not been publicly announced.
