Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's approval ratings have been hit in the past month, according to a media survey. The opposition accused Abe of violating the political capital law.
Abe was accused of hosting a party for supporters, the latest in a series of gift giving scandals. The scandals have led to the downfall of several politicians in recent months and have hit public sentiment.
A monthly survey conducted by Yomiuri Shimbun in the latter part of last week showed that the approval rate of Abe's cabinet fell 6 points to 49% from the survey in October, the first time it has fallen below 50% since February.
