        Japanese Prime Minister ichisu Kan resigns due to scandal

Japan's economy and industry minister, ichisu Kan, has submitted his resignation after being charged with possible violations of the election law, local media reported Friday.
Mr Kan, who became Minister of economy and industry last month when his cabinet was reshuffled, is in charge of dealing with trade disputes with South Korea. According to current affairs news agency and Kyodo news agency, he has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Mr Abe said Mr Kan had resigned as Minister of economy and industry. Kyodo news agency said the prime minister would consider member Hiroshi Kusama as his successor.
