China's major stock indexes ended roughly flat on Thursday, with light trading and cautious sentiment as investors waited for more details of the US China trade agreement.
CSI300 rose 0.1 percent to 3925.22, while Shanghai Composite Index. SSEC fell 0.1 percent to 2977.33.
U.S. trade negotiators with China are trying to finalise the text of the first phase of the trade agreement in case the two leaders sign it next month, Treasury Secretary nouchin said Wednesday. He added that he was ready to go to Beijing for further talks if necessary.
On the same day, the US State Department and Congress targeted China, although President Trump said there was "good will" between China and the United States, and said he expected to sign the first stage trade agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping next month.
China said it would lift commercial restrictions on foreign banks, securities companies and fund management companies, but the market did not respond very much, so the competitive situation in the financial industry dominated by China's state-owned enterprises may have limited impact.
