CNBC tweeted that the White House denied South China's early declaration that Vice Premier Liu He planned to leave Washington on Thursday and that the Sino-US trade talks would be held for only one day.
"We are not aware of the changes in the itinerary of Vice Premier Liu He," White House spokesman told CNBC.
CNBC quoted U.S. officials as saying Liu He still plans to leave on Friday evening.
Asked if this week's negotiations could make a breakthrough, the official said President Trump had not yet made up his mind.
