[Global Network reporter Zhu Haiyi] According to today's Russian (RT) report, Iraqi President Balham Saleh warned at the United Nations General Assembly on 25 that the Middle East region may face a new threat of war, insisting that Iraq should not be dragged into high-cost conflicts by its neighbours again.

Reported that Saleh said he was optimistic about Iraq's "promised (bright) future". But he believes that there are different forces in the Middle East trying to use Iraq as a battlefield to resolve their disputes, and that Iraq has experienced enough bloodshed.
"We do not want our country to be caught in any regional or international conflict," Saleh said in a speech to the General Assembly. "Nor do we want our country to be seen as a clearing ground for regional and international conflicts. Our people have paid a high price for war and conflict."
"Iraq will not be a launching pad for aggression by any of our neighbours... We've had enough of war. According to RT, Saudi Arabia and Iran are likely to be what Saleh calls "neighbouring countries".
Two Saudi oil installations were attacked by drones on September 14. Although Yemen's Hussein Army admitted that it was the organization that day, the United States and Saudi Arabia still accused Iran of being responsible for the "unprecedented attack on the world energy market", while Iran denied all the accusations.
