Europe's largest business organization said Monday that Britain's non-agreement to withdraw from Europe would be a disaster that must be avoided. EU officials warn that the worst scenario is becoming more likely.
After two delays, Britain is now expected to withdraw from Europe on October 31, but there are serious differences between Parliament and the public over the terms of the withdrawal agreement.
"A withdrawal from Europe without agreement will lead to disaster, which should be avoided absolutely. A disorderly and uncontrolled withdrawal from Europe will do great harm to all parties. This will do great damage to British and even European citizens and businesses, "said Markus Beyrer, Director-General of Business Europe.
Business Europe is a lobbying organization that represents businesses of all sizes in 34 European countries, including the United Kingdom.
"The negative impact is not confined to the day of withdrawal, but will continue, threatening the fruitful positive relationships we expect to achieve in the future," Beyrer said.
