A survey released by JPMorgan Chase on Thursday showed that more and more investors welcomed the idea of issuing more than 30-year Treasury bonds in the United States, but most of them still preferred the U.S. Treasury Department to extend 20-year bonds to ultra-long-term bonds.
Thirty percent of respondents, including banks, asset managers and hedge funds, said they would buy ultra-long-term U.S. Treasuries. According to the survey, 19% of respondents held this view two years ago.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Treasury asked market participants about the possibility of issuing ultra-long-term bonds.
