Saudi Arabia's crude oil exports fell in June from last month, according to official data released on Tuesday, keeping its crude oil production below 10 million barrels a day to help alleviate global oversupply and support oil prices.
According to JODI data, Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, exported 6.721 million barrels of crude oil a day in June, down from 6.942 million barrels in May. The daily output in June was 9.782 million barrels, up from 9.670 million barrels in May.
Saudi oil official told Reuters earlier this month that despite strong customer demand, the country plans to keep crude oil exports below 7 million barrels a day in August and September to help digest global oil inventories and rebalance the market.
In July, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Russia-led allies agreed to extend the oil cut agreement to March 2020 to support crude oil prices, as global economic weakness and soaring U.S. oil production.
According to JODI data, Saudi crude oil inventories rose to 18790 million barrels in June from 18772.3 million barrels in May.
According to JODI, Saudi refineries produced 2.555 million barrels a day in June, up from 2.464 million barrels in May. Data show that Saudi Arabia exported 12.76 million barrels of refined oil a day in June, slightly higher than last month's 12.66 million barrels.
