The Daily Telegraph of Britain reported Tuesday that the UK will allow Huawei of China to participate in the construction of 5G mobile network. Sources were not quoted in the report. According to the newspaper, the British National Security Council, led by Prime Minister Teresa May, agreed to allow Huawei to participate in the construction of "non-core" parts of 5G mobile facilities, such as antennas, despite the doubts of her cabinet ministers. Huawei has participated in the construction of existing non-core mobile networks in the UK. Officials from the United States and other countries have repeatedly voiced concerns that Huawei equipment may be used by the Chinese government for espionage and sabotage, especially as operators switch to 5G networks.
