Guo Taiming, chairman of Hon Hai (2317.TW), a global smartphone maker, said Tuesday that a lawsuit against Microsoft (MSFT.O) was almost impossible to cause any damage to Hon Hai because Microsoft wanted to use it to achieve its goals.
Guo Taiming made the above statement at a press conference. Earlier, he also said on Facebook that Hon Hai did not make Android products in the lawsuit itself, so there would never be any infringement. At noon, a press conference was held to clarify the charges against Microsoft.
"This should be a war between American companies and American companies, a war between Microsoft and Google, and not a generation factory." Guo Taiming said.
Chi Yuyang, general manager of Hon Hai Mobile Business Group, added at a press conference that mobile phone customers are not required to negotiate or pay royalties on behalf of Microsoft and can not disclose relevant information to Microsoft. Hon Hai is a victim of pond fish. He also reiterated that there was no expected risk of loss in the case.
Mr. Gou said on Facebook that Microsoft, as a global software hegemon, should have charged protection fees to Google (GOOGL.O) or Android authorized users worldwide, but only to Chinese manufacturers.
