Huawei seeks to consolidate its position in Europe by introducing a smartphone with new camera capabilities that is cheaper than its rivals Samsung (005930.KS) and Apple AppL.O.
The new Glory V20 launched in China last December made its debut in Paris on Tuesday. The phone is equipped with a 48-megapixel camera that takes several photos at a time and integrates the best quality of each photo into one photo.
It also has a 3-D camera and a 25-megapixel front-end self-camera. The smartphone starts at 549 euros ($624).
As a sub-brand of Huawei's smartphone product portfolio, the attraction of the Glory Series is that it has many advanced functions of Huawei's high-end product line, but the price is much lower.
