President Trump said on Friday that it had set a date and place to meet with the North Korean leader Kim Jeong-eun, raising the suspense of the United States and DPRK summit, and South Korea said it would oppose the withdrawal of US forces from the region.
The White House has said that the first meeting of the incumbent heads of state of the United States and the DPRK may take place in the coming weeks. Trump will ask the DPRK to give up the nuclear weapons.
The demilitarized zone between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea and Singapore have the highest voice in the many alternative locations of the summit. Trump expressed his tendency to hold talks in the demilitarized zone this week, but also indicated that he might be in Singapore.
Last month, Kim Jeong-eun held talks with South Korean President Wen Yin in the Peace House of the demilitarized zone.
The White House announced that Trump will meet with Wen Yin in the White House in May 22nd, to show the United States and South Korea's friendship before the special summit.
Burton, a US national security adviser, met with the Chong Wa Dae security chief Zheng Yirong at the White House Friday and announced that Wen will visit the United States.
Later, Zheng Yirong told reporters that "the issue of the US forces in South Korea has been repeatedly mentioned and is unacceptable."
