Information sources said Thursday that China's Fujian Fuhai petro-chemical Co., Ltd. plans to restart the petrochemical refinery in eastern Fujian as early as in June, which had been suspended for three years.
Fuhai's original name is Tenglong aromatics, and the company restarts this large petrochemical plant, which will increase the demand for raw materials such as condensate, fuel oil and mixed xylene, while the global market will increase the demand for the plant. The factory mainly produces polyester fiber.
If the factory can restart, it will be an important supplement to the synthetic fiber supply chain. Earlier, due to two fires in less than two years, causing safety concerns and new funds needed to repair, the plant began to shut down in April 2015.
The source did not disclose the cost of the factory repair.
Before closing, the factory in Zhangzhou, Fujian, had a 90 thousand barrel condensate separation unit, a 3 million 200 thousand ton hydrocracking unit for annual processing, and two para xylene factories for processing 800 thousand tons annually.
According to the sources, the company hopes to restart the factory in June or July, and is still waiting for the government's approval of the factory rectification.
Reporters repeatedly sent to Fujian petrochemical Refco Group Ltd (referred to as "Fuhua group") office, but not answered. Fuhua group is the main new shareholder of the project.
A source said that at present a Fuhai 90% shares to Fu Gure Petrochemical Industries Co, dragon aromatics holds 10% equity. The latter is one of the Taiwan Xianglu group enterprise.
