Bloomberg quoted sources familiar with the situation as reporting that the US President’s Trump administration is considering a variety of options, including restricting China’s investment in sensitive technology that the United States considers to be based on a legal clause reserved when the country is caught in an emergency.
The International Emergency Economic Power Bill, introduced in 1977, allowed the President of the United States to declare a state of emergency in order to respond to "unusual and major threats."
