Three sources told Reuters, Chevron (Chevron) (CVX.N) under study include the sale of its Canadian liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, a minority equity option to move the project forward.
Two of these people said, trading Kitimat LNG equity may negotiate including Malaysia's national oil company and Chevron (Petronas). Malaysia's national oil company cancelled a $36 billion LNG project in British Columbia, Canada, last year as a result of the severe market situation. Insiders asked for anonymity because the related procedures were not open.
These people said, not sure Chevron will promote the sale of interest. Reuters has been communicating with these people in the past week.
These people said, Chevron will also consider the interests of the project sold to Canada as a pension fund or private Holdings Company and other financial investors.
Sources said the Canada Company Seven Generations Energy (VII.TO) and Tourmaline Oil (TOU.TO) is Chevron's project to supply natural gas negotiations. Seven Generations may also consider joining other natural gas producers to acquire the rights and interests of the project.
