The Conservative Party of Germany's prime minister Merkel and the central left wing Social Democratic Party (SPD) plan to continue negotiations on Tuesday. The two sides are trying to reach an agreement on health care and labor reform, which is the last obstacle for Germany to form a "great coalition government".
On Monday night, the two major political camp negotiators agreed to need more time to reach an agreement, the sources said late on Monday.
The parties are speeding up an agreement to reorganize the ruling coalition government since 2013, ending months of political uncertainty. Both sides expressed the belief that the agreement was in place.
The German newspaper Rheinische Post quoted the Social Democratic Party's internal plan. Merkel and his allies, the leader of Christian Social Alliance (CSU), Zhe Houfu (Horst Seehofer) and the Social Democratic Party leader Schultz (Martin Schulz), hope to propose the final alliance agreement on Tuesday.
The two sides ended negotiations on the European issue and showed signs of progress. On twitter, Schultz said the Agreement included "increased investment, investment budgets for the euro zone and an end to forced fiscal tightening."
