Handelsblatt reports quoted HNA Group (0521.HK) spokesman said the group will not bid for the German shipping industry financing provider HSH Nordbank.
"The HNA Group or its business will not offer any acquisition," he said in a statement quoted on Wednesday.
Sources have told Reuters that HNA Group and Chinese insurer Ampang Insurance Group have contacted HSH Nordbank for the acquisition.
At present, it is not possible to contact Shanghai Airlines Group.
